From Tyranny are a five-piece hailing from Glasgow, Scotland. Branding themselves as masters of 'Cinematic Metalcore' and, after some much needed time away writing and new additions to the band, they have arrived at its strongest iteration yet - with Stuart Carlin (Vocals), Daniel Lyon (Rhythm Guitar), Euan ‘Geoff’ MacDonald (Lead Guitar), Aidan Hart (Bass) and Colin Campbell (Drums).

Their sophomore release EP, 'The Other Side Of The Mirror' is the sophomore release after our debut EP 'Reprise'. Off the back the EP we sought to further explore our more feral and heavier side, and the result is an unrelenting 4 minute banger full of blast beats, bouncy guitar riffs and absolutely savage breakdowns. We’re greatly looking forward to performing this in a live setting and seeing people’s reactions!

"With this release we had a particular vision for the song be absolutely devastating, and we needed the production to match the ferocity of the material. We opted to self-produce and had the track mixed and Mastered by Lance Prenc (Alpha Wolf, Polaris, Paledusk, Thornhill). We’re so unbelievably stoked to have him elevate the track and the end product is far better than we ever could have imagined.

The song deals with the feeling of not liking who's staring back at you, the whispers you feel are coming from your own internal thoughts telling you that you can't achieve more or move forward. It painfully details the pursuit of overcoming one's personal dialogue of inadequacy. The lyric “Only the void will remain" is about looking at yourself and feeling zero gratification towards anything that you are striving for."
