THE CULT COMMENCE THEIR 40th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS WITH A PERFORMANCE AND INTERVIEW ON THE HOWARD STERN SHOW
The Cult commence their 40th anniversary celebrations with an exclusive interview and performance on The Howard Stern Show (listen via Sirius XM’s Howard 101 channel on 12th January from 7pm ET/PT).
The date holds special significance for both Stern and The Cult, with the legendary media personality celebrating his 70th birthday, and Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy having announced their transition from Death Cult to The Cult via the UK’s Tube TV on January 13, 1984.
Stern, during an impromptu broadcast over the summer surrounded by famous friends, asked each of his guests to select their favourite song, with Stern himself picking The Cult’s ‘She Sells Sanctuary’ for the surprise DJ spot on his own Howard 100 station.
Throughout 2024, the seminal band will be announcing further details relevant to their 40th anniversary.
These plans follow a hugely successful UK & Ireland tour at the end of 2023, marking the return of Death Cult to venues where they made their live debut in 1983. Death Cult then became The Cult in 1984 - releasing Dreamtime that same year and going on to experience a career that has seen the release of 11 full-length albums, as well as numerous international and U.S. gold and platinum certifications.
