Formed in 2014 by brothers Joe and Eddy and friend Luca, the garage punkers regularly gig in and around Brighton and have an upcoming show in The Water Rats, London on 13th October. Influenced by the likes of Drenge, Them Crooked Vultures, Pretty Vicious and The White Stripes, the young band class their music as rock music with heavy punk and grunge influence.
The “spiky three piece gutter psychedelia band” have performed at a number of live venues over the UK including features on BBC Introducing, BBC Live Lounge and Wyatt Wendel's 'The New Rock Show' on Planet Rock. Their previous single ‘Cold Wind’ featured on Nels Hylton’s ‘Future Alternative’ Show on BBC Radio One.
Lead vocalist Eddy states ‘although I can see and understand what said person is trying to say, they need to make me believe’. The rising rock trio explain further that ‘Wakka’ tacitly howls “actions always speak louder than words”. Originally a string of demos they “bashed up” in a tiny, dark box room with an amp and drum kit as a way to escape from the normal conventions of life, the songs have since evolved in the studio into huge tracks which have been released over the course of 2023.
‘Wakka’ is the last single to be released from their recent rock run of 2023, with more music and spiky singles due to drop at the beginning of 2024.
