Fearless UK band MOSKITO are back with their ‘Gritty, British, and in your face’ brand of fresh Punk Rock. The band are today thrilled to announce their highly anticipated debut mixtape ‘Bad Love’ which is set for release on Friday 27th January. On top of this announcement MOSKITO have shared a raging offering from the mixtape titled ‘517’.
Following the breath-taking launch of the band towards the end of 2021 they now ready to showcase the next level of the band with a selection of tracks that all have their own entity whilst retaining a coherent and relevant sound throughout and ‘517’ is the perfect example of that.
Listening to ‘517’ feels like you're in the epicentre of independence day. It's an auditory alien invasion that takes you down all the wrong roads. The track is littered with unhinged tangents with strong influences of chaos and volatility.
Check out the official music video for ‘517’ right here:
“517 is a song which allows you to find yourself lost in the chaos, conjuring any emotion in which you allow yourself, this is your page…. What would you write? After all we all just architects of our own downfall! It's like a letter to your ex. Full of optimism, pride, resentment, confusion, jealousy, loathing & a desperation to prove them wrong. 517 is the ultimate revenge bod.” - Frontman Jake Rudd.
‘517’ follows a string of single releases in ‘Sweet Fruit’, ‘Gone With the Girl Next Door’ and ‘Don’t Touch My Baby’ all of which will appear on the ‘Bad Love’ mixtape and made a huge impact on the scene. The singles led the band to making their first ever live appearance across the UK causing havoc at every destination including their debut sell out headline show, support slots with Fizzy Blood and the announcement of the band appearing at Lume Fest, London in 2023 alongside Dream State, Graphic Nature, Bambie Thug and Delaire The Liar.
With ‘517’ already picking up support from BBC Radio 1’s Alyx Holcombe it follows an abondance of praise from the likes of Kerrang! Magazine, Rock Sound, Rolling Stone Magazine, Kerrang! Radio, Planet Rock, All Punked Up, New Noise Magazine, Punktastic, BBC Introducing, whilst acquiring their rightful spot on huge Spotify and Apple Music playlists.
‘517’ continues to prove why MOSKITO are a force to be reckoned with right now. Their journey as an ensemble is refreshingly relevant during this decade. Crafting deeply honest yet antagonistic music that allows listeners to lose themselves through spontaneous mayhem.
