Derby based death-core outfit The Cartographer have unveiled their brand new single “FIEND” taken from their yet to be announced upcoming E.P “The Cold Black”. This will take the band in a new direction musically, taking inspiration from their predecessor releases and also adding in a new flavor, blending multiple genres and giving their fans an evolved version of the band.
“FIEND” is a bludgeoning statement of intent, instantly delivering an array of heavy down-tuned riffs, sledgehammer drum-work, spine shivering tones and a panic inducing vocal pattern before entering back into an amalgamation of groove-laden onslaught.

The single explores a number of emotions which will bring the listener to the edge o their seat, combined with an aura of horrifying soundscape.
“Fiend is a song focused around battling demons I used to struggle with a few years back. Mentally I felt like a completely different person to what I do today, I didn’t recognise myself and only had the imagine of some “fiend” taking full control of my being. This is the first track I wrote for on the EP and I think it really set the stage for the rest of the songs”

Formed in 2013, The Cartographer are a 5 piece Derbyshire based band dedicated to channeling their combined passion & love for music into a spine shattering embodiment of modern Deathcore. The band represents a number of various emotions that derive from personal life experiences, struggles, trauma and the ability to remind every listener that you’re not alone in your battles.
The band have graced many stages from performing at U.K Tech Metal Fest & MacMillian Fest to supporting bands like Loathe, Skies In Motion & King 810. With a plethora of experience behind them and an army of spine shaking songs under their belt, a co-headline tour with Glass Grave in November appearing at the renowned Rock City, this release is only but a taster of what is yet to come from The Cartographer.
