HRH Prog XII Upgraded to a 3 Day, 2 Arena, 5 Star Residential Resort Featuring Tangerine Dream, The Earth Band, Pendragon plus 25 Progressive Wonders
The light at the end of the tunnel has been spotted – and from that light emerges HRH Prog XII. The fans wanted it, the fans got it – the next chapter in HRH Prog’s long and illustrious history is to be a full-on no-holds-barred residential event, based at The 5 star Camp HRH resort in Great Yarmouth East Anglia, on the gorgeous East coast of England. Featuring a rare appearance by the legendary Tangerine Dream, and the welcome return of Pendragon, the lineup is one of the most unique and varied yet for HRH Prog. New talent hasn’t been overlooked either, with many of the bands never having performed at an HRH event before.
Prog XII will be a 3 day, 2 arena showcase of the very best of progressive rock, both classic and new. As always for HRH Prog events, the lineup is based on a fan vote – with previous attendees able to express their prog preferences and the bookings closely matching their wishes. The fanbase didn’t let the side down and sure enough, the early access sales have been truly staggering.
Top of the bill at HRH Prog XII are German electronica legends Tangerine Dream, who have been pioneering in and promoting their genre since 1967. Although the band’s spiritual leader Edgar Froese passed in 2015, the stewardship of the band was handed on to Thorsten Quaeschning and the band are now as active as they have ever been. With over 100 albums released over their career and the latest, Quantum Gate, appearing in 2017, the band found a new generation of fans with their huge contribution to the soundtrack for Stranger Things – three tracks from the Germans appear on the album, with the theme tune heavily influenced by their work. Their first-ever appearance at HRH Prog, the Saturday headliners are guaranteed to enthral and mesmerize the HRH Prog XII crowd.
Part of the prog-rock revival of the ‘80s, English veterans Pendragon are no strangers to the HRH Prog faithful, and always deliver and fantastic set full of effortless musicianship and catchy tunes, all the while keeping their signature prog-rock sound. Fronted by founder member Nick Barrett, and joined by life-long member Peter Gee, the 4-piece from Gloucestershire will be chomping at the bit to be able to play their latest album “Love Over Fear” to a live audience, with its release coming just before restrictions kicked in that would see live music around the world put on ice. A warm welcome is sure to accompany Pendragon back to the HRH Prog stage on Saturday night, as the twelfth iteration of HRH Prog is asked to take only what they need…
With more bands to be announced over the coming weeks, this lineup really is something to behold and makes HRH Prog XII an event not to be missed for any progressive music fan.
