Third Lung are set to push on into the next stages of their ‘Sooner Or Later’ campaign with the second single and full EP ready to go. Having released the first track ‘Sister Sinner’ back in November, they’ve managed to prick the ears and turn the heads of industry heavyweights, including huge support from Classic Rock Magazine who described it as “A mix of crunchy grunge-laced chops, atmospheric harmonies and contemporary production qualities that drive the soaring, pensive qualities of the Reading-based rockers.” Title track ‘Sooner Or Later’ landed on the 25th January whilst the full EP will follow on the 1st March.

Known for their incredible ability to project emotional tales and whirlwind stories through the growling, stadium-worthy vocals of Tom Farrelly, Third Lung can pull on both your heartstrings and your head-banging muscle at exactly the same time. Joined by guitarist and backing vocalist Camilla Jurasek, bassist Rob Jacques and drummer Sam Waugh, Tom’s real-life talk is coated in a blanket of anthemic rock and roll noise that the Foo Fighters, Oasis and Stereophonics would be more than proud of.
Born in 2014, Third Lung started their ever-growing legacy deep within the suburbs of Reading. Now just a few years later they’re playing every corner of the UK and broadening their musical heritage to extreme heights. The idea of a single is to lay down the foundation of the delights that are about to follow and ’Sister Sinner’ did just that – straight from the heart, to the heart rock music that leaves you singing out loud and punching your fists in the air by the time it’s reached the first chorus.
Next up is ‘Sooner Or Later,’ a riff-heavy optimistic story-telling record that explores gritty truths, big room build ups and some of the most epic impactful chorus drops you’ll have heard in a long time. Cementing their place as a trustworthy, consistent and reliable source of rock infused indie, you can expect much more of the same in the rest of their EP. ‘Can’t Be Taken Back’ has a fittingly melancholy tone to match the raw emotion of the lyrics, whilst ‘While You Sleep’ ends the EP with an explosion of marching snares, growling guitars and another beautifully explored story. On the EP’s deeper meanings, lead singer Tom added:
“Lyrically I see the EP as having 2 sides, both of which circle around one common theme - Choice. In both ‘Sister Sinner’ and ‘Sooner or Later’ you have a very optimistic, positive message of self-determination. Choose to embrace life despite its challenges and filter the light from the dark. ‘Can’t Be Taken Back’ however, is delivered from the perspective of someone who has fallen into despair and wants to make others feel their pain. ‘While You Sleep’ is all about control. The story comes from someone’s need to manipulate their surroundings and everyone in it in order to feel secure in an unpredictable world. I found the lead characters frustration in the choruses of ‘While You Sleep’ strangely Hopeful. Being, as they are, unable to pin down hope and joy.”
Proving themselves to be an unstoppable force, Third Lung are starting 2019 as they mean to go. You can expect an onslaught of gigging and music from the 4-piece, so strap yourselves in - the ‘Sooner Or Later’ era is has begun.
