Hard Rockers Bobaflex from West Virginian are back to wreak havoc with their eighth album ‘Eloquent Demons’ which is the follow to 2015’s ‘Anything That Moves’, this sees not only their first release through Thermal Entertainment but their first actual label release in a while after the band decided to go independent. They are a very hardworking and tireless band, having extensively toured, and even setting records for this, they certainly don’t do anything by half measures.
The opening intro and title track sounds very appropriately evil, with a creepy intro speech to set the scene whilst we wait for the demons to be fully unleashed…
First proper track ‘I Am Nightmare’ immediately sees heavy dark guitars and melodic group singing, which give it a classic feel with a gritty edge and is possesses a hell of a powerful chorus, not to mention a killer solo – this will be hard to forget.
Keeping the momentum going is ‘Long Time Coming’ which is equally as hard-hitting, with groove ridden and stomping riffs, aggressive strong vocals and an extremely catchy chorus which see it soar wonderfully.
Later on, we see some more diversity with a funk vibe injected into ‘Lights Out’ which sees glimpses of lots of rock genres and is very changeable with brilliant melodies and rhythms, keeping you hooked to the very end.
Their first radio single from the album ‘Hey You’ which is a Pink Floyd cover is excellently executed, starting off initially mellow yet sombre, before the sinister hard instruments come in and drive it, it then goes into another more hopeful transition, with powerful melodic vocals and impressive guitars to close this passionate rendition.
The closing song ‘Reckless’ storms along in a fast-paced fashion and sums up the band’s sound and creative collection of hard rock nicely, ending the album in style and going out on an absolute high after the exhilarating ten tracks.
This is hard rock at its highest calibre, it is rich, layered and passionate, and the endless incredible harmonies really give them their extra cutting edge. It also is incredibly diverse, offering something for everyone from classic hard rock to metal, and exudes style and talent in all of these rocking anthems.
