ExoWaves - Side Effects (Double A-Side Single Review)

ExoWaves from Stoke-On-Trent are set to release their Double A-Side single on 6th October 2015, they will unveil their futuristic rock 'n' roll sounds in these two distinct and contrasting tracks... To kick things off we have, 'Closest Romantic', which showcases their softer fuzzy side, which the masses can enjoy! Zak's vocals are soft yet strong, with a hard edge and compliment the ambient accompanying instruments. 'Side Effects' has a darker gritty vibe, truly embracing the dazed rock 'n' roll sounds, especially with lines such as, “watching my demons come and go from my soul"! That along with snarly shouts, slick riffs and overdrived instrument outbursts as backup, end things on a high impact memorable note! This is my opinion is the stand out song of the two, but that being said both offer something completely different and are constructed and delivered wonderfully, helping to convey their take and style on the rock '...

Mataleòn - Debut EP "Perspective of An Idea"

I don't know about you, but sometimes the music just needs to speak for itself, and it doesn't even matter if you don't understand the lyrics..as much as I would like to understand Italian, unfortunately I don't, but that doesn't mean you can't admire and appreciate the debut EP from Milan alt rock act Mataleon!... Opening song and first single, 'Atari' has very impressive guitar throughout, and demanding energetic vocals, all moulded together wonderfully to make a very catchy and head bang worthy track! This was a wise choice for a single, as its a stand out one that embodies their sound perfectly! 'Ozymandias' is equally enjoyable, being very melodic and pleasing on the ears, with brilliant calming and changing vocals, paired with striking instruments, which take many twists and turns in the right direction..making for a intelligible offering. 'Il Foglio Bianco' is a beautiful powerhouse rock balladesque number, highlighting t...

Weesp - The Void (Review) - Minsk Rockers Hit Hard With Electrical Storm!

Alternative electronic rock masters from Minsk finally unleash their first full length album, which they spent three years writing, but now they are ready to grace us with their ‘spacey’ out of this world immense sound! ‘The Void’ is their most experimental, heaviest and biggest release yet, and should put them on the map with their distinct high energy, electrifying rock sounds, and soaring flawless varied vocals, which can be heard particularly in the dark infectious thrilling single, ‘Murderers’ which definitely represents the band’s sound. An absolute must hear comes in form of ‘Omen’, which is dangerously catchy with a dark rave vibe, created by their fantastic use of electronic sounds. This can be enjoyed by the masses, for everyone to go crazy too!! It also features some bad ass fierce screams to make it more deliciously wicked! Title track, ‘The Void’ provides a different side to the band, and shows of Lex’s flawless and varied vocals wonderfully, before jumping ...

Promoting Music & Charity - Review Marathon!!

Apologies in advance before you read this. I'm not usually one to do this sort of thing, so I hope I can be forgiven and that you can bear with me for this special/different post, which isn't just related to music, but I have cunningly combined two things I feel very passionate about!..Music and helping to promote/raise money for charity. Again I don't like to put my heart out there, but I feel I need to, in order to help my cause and motivate myself..I haven't been very active on my site lately, as I sadly lost my mother recently who encouraged and supported my work, (who by the way had great taste in music - such as Metallica, HIM, Shinedown, Halestorm, Billy Idol ect) who passed away from something called, Septicemia or Sepsis for short, which is a whole-body inflammatory response to an infection. Common signs and symptoms include fever, increased heart rate, increased breathing rate, and confusion. It may not sound life threatening, but unfortunately if not detected...
